The Protectors - Tom Heights, Lake District, UK.

Having failed to locate the path to Tom Heights on several past occasions, I finally managed to find it and made the short walk up through the tall ferns. If you manage to find the path then the ferns aren’t actually too bad but I wouldn’t want to be fern wacking my way up there, that’s for sure! Before reaching the main summit point, I stumbled upon this group of trees and quite liked the composition I was getting with my telephoto lens. Regardless of this, I packed the camera back in the bag and carried on to the summit. This was my first mistake of the evening! As the evening progressed, it was becoming obvious that my intended shot at the summit wasn’t going to work and I fell pray to one of my weaknesses; stubbornness! In the direction of Fairfield, I could see glimpses of light breaking out and that feeling in my gut was telling me to ditch my preconceptions and go back to my previous composition. Of course, it wasn’t until the last minute that I made the decision to very quickly pack up and make the mad dash back through the maze of ferns to the wonderful group of Birches which at this point, had the most amazing light complementing Fairfield in the background! Luckily, I got myself set up and took the shot just in the nick of time before the light disappeared. I think I may have missed the very best of the light but I’m just glad that I listened to my gut, albeit right at the last minute!

The Print.

- I use Professional cameras and lenses in my workflow resulting in exceptional image quality. (The preview images have been reduced in quality for web purposes). All photographs are taken and processed by myself.   

 - Prints are produced to a high quality by a professional print supplier. Please allow 3-5 days for your print to arrive.   

 - Printed on Smooth Pearl 290gsm; a natural white, heavyweight and instant dry, resin coated paper. The beautiful pearl finish and white point gives a crisp finish with a superb colour gammut.   

 - All prints will be printed at the stated sizes. However, a white border can be added to the image to make mounting\framing easier. Please notify me if you would like the print to come with a white border.   

 - Some sizes may require me to make a small crop to the original image. This is due to the paper size being different to the original aspect ratio of the photograph. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need further assistance.

Packaging.   

 

- Prints will be carefully packaged in acid-free tissue paper and sent flat in cardboard envelope or rolled within a tube, dependent on size.
